  • Isn't it amazing how moms know us better than we know ourselves sometimes.  I walk into the house tonight after a day full of classes, and what does my mom say?  "You home, sleepyhead?"  I said, "wow, am i that obvious?"  It's a mother's job to know her children, i guess.  :)

  • Lost at the Ren Faire

    What do y'all think?? :)

Oh, and song of the day.  This is an old one, but suddenly I realize how much it applies to our lives.

Oh, be careful little eyes what you see
Oh, be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down with love
Oh, be careful little eyes what you see.

In this world of internet, movies, and tv, sometimes I wonder if we as Christians really pay attention to what we're watching.  Is the Father up above heart-broken over what we see?

Oh, be careful little ears what you hear
Oh, be careful little ears what you hear
For the Father up above is listening with love
Oh, be careful little ears what you hear

What about our music?  Or, are we listening to words we shouldn't?  Are ok with listening to jokes that are funny in the worlds eyes, but is sinful in God's?  Are we ok with listening to other people gossip?  Or are we gonna put a stop to it?  Is the Father up above heart-broken at the sounds to which we listen?

Oh, be careful little mouth what you say
Oh, be careful little mouth what you say
For the Father up above is listening with love
Oh, be careful little mouth what you say

Now the time comes for our own sounds.  Are we joining in the gossip?  Are we singing songs that dishonor God?  Are we at the worldly jokes?  Or are we saying them?  Is the Father up above heart-broken in hearing His children?

Oh, be careful little feet where you go
Oh, be careful little feet where you go
For the Father up above is looking down with love
Oh, be careful little feet where you go

What about where we go?  Are there people that we shouldn't be around?  Are there times when we shouldn't be alone with certain people, because they might lead us to sin, or the situation might compromise our reputation?  Are there any places we shouldn't be, or places where our reputation could be compromised?  Are we being above reproach in where we go?  Or, is the reputation of our Father up above being compromised, since we bear His name?

And finally (but in no way less important),
Oh, be careful little hands what you do
Oh, be careful little hands what you do
For the Father up above is looking down with love
Oh, be careful little hands what you do

We all sin.  We all know that.  But this goes beyond sinning.  Are there things in our lives that could compromise our reputation?  Things such as drinking, smoking, being alone with the opposite sex.  Are there things in our life that may take higher priority than they should?  Even silly things like watching tv, watching movies, playing video games, or hanging out with certain friends can take the place of what's more important.  Are there things that are ok for me to do, but may not be the best thing for me to do?  We need to use wisdom in all that we do.  Just because something is ok, doesn't make it the best option.  Let's honor the Father up above in all that we do.

Well, y'all, I know that's a lot, and it's more than I've shared in a long time.  But, I guess, it was just on my mind, so I thought I'd put it out there.  Have a great weekend!!

  • Be Thou my vision, Oh, Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best thought be day or by night
Waking or sleeping Thy presence my light

Be Thou my wisdom, and Thou my true word
I ever with Thee, and Thou with me, Lord
Thou my great Father, and I Thy true son
Thou in me dwelling, and I with The one

Riches I need not, nor man's empty praise
Thou mine inheritance now and always
Thou and Thou only first in my heart
High King of heaven my Treasure Thou art

High King of heaven, my victory won
May I reach heaven's joy, Oh bright heaven's sun
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall
Still be my vision, Oh, Ruler of all

Going through some tough stuff right now, but God is great, and will continue guiding me, as long os I keep looking to Him.

  • "And I fall into Your love,
And I crawl into Your arms,
And Your grace, it lifts me up,
And You call me your son."

Great lyrics from my personal friend, Mike Psalmizt Smith.
